This morning, my three year old daughter said, “We are a community and we communicate.” After being blown away by her intelligence and introspection, I realized how right she was.
We are a community of moms, dads, kids, grandparents, friends, co-workers, supporters, leaders, professionals, drinking buddies, and party throwers!
We most certainly communicate quite a lot about everything from toddler tantrums to school supplies to the best place to get sushi. And more than anything, we’ve got each others’ backs.
That was very clear yesterday when I asked for prayers on our community Facebook page and received close to 50 responses right away. Some were from people I don’t even know. And many asked me how I was doing today. The prayers worked.
There’s nothing like having a large group of people in your corner. You may not know all of them well, but if you need them, there is no question. The circle will close around you.
When the circles closes around me, I know I am home.
