Many Feelings, One Face

Many feelings, one face, in my four year old darling. Sometimes I can catch them candidly, but in this instance, she put on a little show. There’s no doubt that I have influenced her with my own wacky expressions. And my father did it to me. We are an expressive bunch and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Love that face.

From The Daily Post:

“This week at Discover, I chatted with illustrator Mica Angela Hendricks, who blogs at Busy Mockingbird, and loved what she said about drawing faces. “The lines in your face tell stories,” she said. “I get to ‘know’ a person through these lines, which is so fun for me.”

Mica likes to draw strange, imperfect faces the most:

When you’re drawing the details of someone, you’re spending intimate time with them in a strange way. Not romantically, but as an artist, you find this wonderful appreciation for what most people consider their “imperfections” — the wrinkles and lines in their faces, the lines under their eyes.

For this week’s photo challenge, let Mica’s insights inspire you: share a photo of a face. It could be your own face; the face of a loved one, whose lines and creases you know well; or even a face out in the wild, where you least expect to see one.”

Old Videos That Aren’t So Old

Awake at 3 am, I watched a few old videos of my darling. This one has got to be the funniest. It is the best example of tangents I think I’ve ever seen. It’s fun to think about playing this at her high school graduation party. But it’s also sad to think about that. She’s only four now and I already feel like I miss this cute age, when she was three. 🙁

Enjoy. I know I will, for a long, long time.

Play Doh Master

Don’t know if I’m biased, but my daughter seems to be quite the expert with Play Doh.  She makes food for weddings and parties, hair styles for dolls and ponies, and clothing/accessories for just about anyone who needs it.

This might not be exactly what you think of for the Really Crafty Link Party but I couldn’t resist showing off my daughter’s talents!

Dancing to the Weekly Photo Challenge

Dancing to the Weekly Photo Challenge

This topic could keep me busy for days. Dancing has been my life, my family’s life. It not only spawned a career, but a personality. Movement is my best friend and I can’t live without it. Even my daughter learned it through osmosis. People think I started teaching her ballet terms straight out of the womb. Not true. I didn’t have to. Somebody already had.
