Good Advice from ‘Mom’s Journey’

Good Advice from ‘Mom’s Journey’

Mom’s Journey: Practical Tips for Raising Kids is a straightforward and honest approach from the author, Limor Friedman, whose experience with motherhood spans more than 18 years. She doesn’t use any psychological babble or scientific research you find in most parenting books. She simply speaks from experience and offers help to those who are in search of it. She doesn’t claim to be right or wrong. She allows the reader to use her take on anything from homework to bullying and then draw their own conclusion within their unique situation.

Thank you to Tomoson and Ebookpro for my complimentary copy in exchange for this review.

mermaids

Mermaids and Canines

Mermaids and canines come together for my latest Oh BaBee! Originals creation. My customer is thrilled to give it to her friend who is due in June with Gemma Paige. The dogs are their babies for just a little while longer until the human baby takes the spotlight.

It always brings me great joy to create a piece for a well-deserving mom. I am honored to adorn the new baby’s room with my work and contribute in a small part to their happiness.

This piece was made with a variety of materials: glass beads, paper flowers, tulle, felt, ribbon, wooden shapes and letters, cloth doilies, and other fabrics. Much of it is up-cycled from old clothing.

Sleep well, baby Gemma, and enjoy the ocean breezes with your mermaid friend.

writing

Writing From the Heart

One of my favorite things to do is writing. I consider it such an honor to write for other people, purposes, and outlets. It’s even more gratifying when someone actually pays me to write. Never thought that would happen.

I’ve been writing for Between the Bridges for about nine months now. I write a column called Mom2Mom as well as the occasional review, family feature, or sponsor spotlight. When I write my Mom2Mom column almost every month, I really do write from the heart. I stand behind every word I say and I truly want the readers to gain something from it. I feel proud when I see my work within the finished product and I hope my community sees the value in this resident friendly publication.

My subject this month was about that ever famous question, “Are you ready for the holidays?” My answer is always a resounding YES, but not for the reasons that most people think. In this column, I share some of the ways I have found to fully enjoy the holiday season without wasting all of my time getting ready for it.
