Water is my muse for this week’s Daily Post Photo Challenge.
This is Molly. I rescued her seven years ago from a puddle on my street during a huge rain storm. I think she was a mole. I have no idea if she was a girl, but named her Molly anyway. I took her to a wildlife rescue shelter and they weren’t sure either, but they promised they would take care of her. Moles only live 3-5 years, so she’s probably long gone now.

What are you a “natural” at doing? I am a natural at dancing. Been doing it since the age of three. Do it all the time. Can’t help it.
Would you prefer a one floor house or multiple levels? I prefer a one floor house. I’ve lived in both and I definitely prefer a nice one floor house, nice and spread out. Stairs are overrated!
What was your favorite subject in school? My favorite subject in school was English. And I still enjoy writing, proofreading, editing, and reading.
Complete this sentence: If only the rain.. would fall when needed and cease when not.
‘The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.’
No matter how carefully a project is planned, something may still go wrong with it. The saying is adapted from a line in “To a Mouse,” by Robert Burns : “The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men / Gang aft a-gley.” Dictionary.com
Well, we had to scrap our camping trip. It has been raining up in these parts for days on end. The satellite shows a hug band of rain headed for West Jefferson, NC. The rain will start this afternoon and continue until tomorrow. Not the ideal camping weather. I don’t mind being cold, but I do mind being wet.
Big fat bummer.
But I had a great time yesterday visiting my old school. I spent two hours just wandering the halls, talking to colleagues, and being introduced to the students as “the very first dance teacher” at the school. I felt like a bit of a celebrity. I’ve been gone for 9 years, so of course, all the students I knew have been gone for a few years.
It felt nostalgic and sad, but inspiring at the same time. The school is still vibrant with color and sound. The students and staff seem happy. It’s just as I remembered.
