Wordless Wednesday Warmth
My daughter was bitten by fire ants. She stood still in the middle of the ant hill and yelled “Mommy, get the ants off me!”. Luckily, she didn’t have a horrible reaction. We acted fast and treated it quickly. And when I say ‘we’, it means the other mothers who came to her rescue. And then there was me. I distinctly remember saying, “What do I do?”
Immediately, my first thought was that I do not know any professionals like these Louisiana exterminators who could check my house for an infestation. I mean I’ve seen fire ants in my home in the past too, and I’m a bit concerned that this could turn into a full-blown infestation if I’m not proactive about the situation. If I cannot find exterminators I might check out the pest guide or the ant guides to see what the recommended course of action is before it’s too late. I don’t want an incident like this to happen again. Worst case, I’ll hire someone like www.pestscontroledinburgh.co.uk to take care of them.
Mothers who are 10-20 years younger constantly humble me, and have been mothers longer than me. They know what they’re talking about and they teach me so much. It was never my intention to wait until the age of 44 to have a baby, but that’s what happened. God had a plan and now I get it.
Age doesn’t tell the whole story in a lot of ways. Wisdom has many faces. Common sense comes from many places. Kindness is innate. And a mother’s instinct is priceless.
Thanks, smart moms. You are my teachers.
